Premier’s Reading Challenge

From 11 May to 28 August, young Queenslanders up to Year 9 are encouraged to immerse themselves in books and become reading heroes. Register as a school, early childhood centre or as an individual reader.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) champions reading with the goal of encouraging young Queenslanders to read for pleasure and learning, to improve literacy and give them a brighter future.

It is an annual statewide initiative for Queensland state and non-state schools and home-educated students from Prep to Year 9, as well as children (aged up to 5 years) enrolled in an early childhood centre.

Join the 2.5 million Queenslanders who have been inspired to read since the first Premier’s Reading Challenge 21 years ago.

We’re getting back to the basics to lift literacy and numeracy results after a decade of decline under Labor.
